First of all uhhh happy holidays. I'm currently trying to write this as fast and quiet as i can because right now my SISTER is asleep on my couch. That's right,
that sister. Shes not the "demon" though. As much grief as shes given me, shes not on the same level,
trust me.
She did scare the HELL out of me though when she showed up at my apartment earlier today, though. I caught her just as she was going to knock and I almost couldn't believe it. I wasnt SUPPOSED to see her ever again, especially since she was supposed to be on the complete other side of the country. I cant remember the last time i'd seen her without her hair all straight and perfect or with a
single wrinkle in her shirt. Almost freaked me out as much as her just being there.
Why was she there? To come visit ME for the holidays? Bull SHIT. i don't need any little hunch to tell me that that wasn't it. She just
wasn't feeling it the past 3 years? No. SEVEN? Whatever, the short story is that she's having a bit of a.. mid... quarter... life-crisis? Like i said, it's WEIRD seeing Natalie like this and i dont like it... she's been shutting me down every time i try to talk about it but oh well! She's an adult, she can crash on my couch while she figures it out. As long as I don't have to deal with any of it.
Right. demons.
Lizzie got a call from our guy Monty from barnes and noble. They actually turned it into an FYE in the past couple months because like.. A woman DID get murdered there. But now a woman went MISSING at this one, and monty says that NO ONE else noticed or really cared. In fact, a few other women also went missing under similar circumstances. They all met this one guy, Hal, and fell TOTALLY in love with him and eventually he asked them to come back with him to his hometown Christmasland. If that sounds stupid and made up, thats because it is.
Hal was a demon and Christmasland was some weird fucked up place he was storing the souls of the women he tricked so he could use them for a ritual to summon his Devil boss. His "mistress" Mara, the devil of seduction and manipulation.
And boy did he seduce and manipulate. He had some buuulllshit thing about all those cheesy daytime christmas movies about the overworked business lady going to the small town and meeting some guy who shows her the meaning of the holiday and life or whatever. But hey, I guess it worked for him! I brought natalie with me to get the low down from monty and hal tried to kidnap
her after we left her in the food court to look for clues. After me and Lizzie got some really freaky messages on Monty's missing friend, Jane's phone, we were like SHIT!! he's targeting vulnerable women with family issues! And so i had to punch his nose into a new shape for trying to speedrun stealing my sisters soul. Which did get me banned from the mall (temporarily, i know a guy ;3)
Yeah so... i Also think I've figured out my whole
headache situation. since I last made an entry I went to see a doctor about it and they didn't really have a clue about it and i just kept having them even after the painkillers. Well, when i went into fye I got that same feeling from the catacombs. It kind of clued me into the whole Demon thing (that and Miles saying he was getting some sulfur smells). and then I got this sick feeling when I got Hal's blood on me when i punched him in the face. I was like, okay, i guess I'm just kind of sensitive to this stuff now. and then we went to talk to
RU who went all "you seem different, you should try magic"
AND I DID. like i didnt need any spellbook or Herma doing the heavy lifting or ANYTHING. i just
Thought about shooting a magic blast out of my hands and it worked. WHICH WAS AWESOME
less awesome when I tried to disguise Lizzie.. or track down Miles.. and I got that migraine all over again. So I have a
feeling that this whole new magic thing has been behind them. (I haven't even brought it up to Bishop yet....) Ru says I probably had some magic rub off on me from living with Herma and them using it on me all the time. figures
So! The way to kill a demon: you don't. but like a god, an exorcism can banish them right back to where they came from. You just have to use a bunch of holy ingredients this time. Natalie and me decided on a truce to work together and get rid of the guy.
We were able to sneak into the mall and set up our sigils on the floor of the starbucks in front of the big christmas tree that the demon was using to hold all the souls he took. (sorry to the morning shift!!!!) Miles TOTALLY tackled him in the nick of time as he was starting to do his whole "summon my mistress" thing! And then Lizzie put in her part of the exorcism.
Dont say "oh i would know better not to get tricked by a demon, I know they're evil". Demons are made to manipulate and get in your head. And their especially good at it when they've been talking to your sister for 15 minutes. Scary good
Lizzie got a really good shot in with the holy water gun we have and Natalie and i sent that asshole straight to
hell!! I've never seen her throw a punch like that before but it was pretty impressive.
We were able to smash open the ornaments holding the victims and helped take Jane home afterward. Another win for Espio and the gang!!
I guess i have to introduce Natalie to Bishop now... She's definitely not deaf and TOTALLY heard me talking to him on the phone earlier in the day. Fingers crossed Bishop doesn't think I'm a
total dweeb after but even just today he had to see a really... rough part of me so. i think it'll be okay
