I didn't really want to write this one but i'm a truth seeker and it's my job to tell the world what they need to now.......
my boyfriend was out of town this week and that already sucked pretty bad. He had some annual training he had to go to and apparently its MANDATORY and he CAN'T call in sick (i thought it would really sell it if he said it was the MAGIC flu but he said then they'd probably just send someone to check it out (of COURSE he has to be all smart and shit like that...) Right as he was heading out he said he got some weird activity pinging on some old equipment and asked if me and the others could go check on it while he was away, and of course I said we could.
the supernatural activity was coming from a cemetary in town. It didn't look like much at first but we noticed this WICKED looking headstone. The thing was made to bascially be one to one like an actual arcade cabinet and it was fitting because it was the grave of THE Jack Striker of striker studios, local Eureka LEGEND. it was modeled after his last game, Grotesque. you know, the total bomb. it was a complete Mess on release and was pretty much unplayable. I have a few links a friend of mine sent me if anyone wants to read more on it.
So i try to poke around the cemetary a bit because it feels like we're not getting ANYWHERE (and by that I mean in my own.... special way...) and I do end up sensing something in the cabinet! The problem was that it kind of got all in my head and convinced me to come back at night alone... not my
proudest moment but Bishop tried to make me feel better and tell me that
anyone can get caught in a thrall, its just how this stuff goes.
BUT THE GAME TOTALLY CAME TO LIFE THAT NIGHT. i know I should be saying "WATCH OUT" and "be careful, because cursed objects are really dangerous!" but I'm not going to lie and say it
wasn't super awesome and cool that the headstone turned on like a REAL machine and I was able to play the ACTUAL game grotesque. no bugs or glitches or crashes or anything! The hing is, when the game runs like its supposed to... when the gargoyle catches up to your character and turns them to stone you ALSO turn to stone. Not right away but eventually... I woke up with the gnarliest crack in my neck and the tips of my fingers were all numb and stony.
Back in the day, grotesque failed for a reason. Jack's old game partner Scotty Spear caught on to Jack's deal with some otherworldly beast (the gargoyle) and plan to sacrifice a ton of people using the game. The guy had NO CLUE what he was dealing with but he figured if Jack instilled the magic in the code, he'd just have to break the code, and it WORKED. unfortunately the thing did find a way to come back as a tombstone and try to pick up where it left off....
Not to brag though but it just so happened to get real unlucky and try to snag ME, now the world's best grotesque player!! Unfortunately my high score vanished when my friends totally wrecked the machine into pieces. I had to play it one last time so it would have its defenses dropped enough to be able to attack it.
it took me a while to be able to tell bishop what happened. I haven't even filled my sister in.... I
I had a hard time with my powers this week. Bishop knows now. I hope he can help me figure this all out because i'm kind of FREAKING if I'm being honest. i don't want anyone to get worried though!! if the worst happens.. it'll be okay. my friends are the best around. they would be able to handle it.
