A few days ago I got a tip from Bishop. Guess he's been a bit busy keeping an eye out for his mom. but hey, it sounded like something worth checking out to me and I'm totally down to give him a hand whenever.
Some people found a man in the forest out of town completely twisted up
INSIDE the trunk of a tree with all this black liquid coming out. This was out by some old lumber mill on the river that closed forever ago in the 1920s. it seemed like the place has had a lot of similar incidents in the past, a lot of workers going missing in the woods and all that.
So it's all tied to these magic kind of trees. They look a little weird from far away but actually the bark is like stone instead of... bark. Miles said it looked like shale when I asked him about it, which um i guess makes sense. They were apparently seen a lot back in the 1800s or something, and then again around when the mill shut down-- and now. the trees are Freaky but even
Freakier are these creatures that "tend" to the trees (more on that...) They were HUGE (about 8 feet tall), with the heads of goats and creepy empty white eyes... and they have these Chains they drag around...
We went up to the mill and found out their actually trying to get the whole thing Started up again. Some corporate CEO lady was in charge of the whole thing (TOTAL b*tch... (xcuse me)) but she had her hands full with a group of activists who were trying to keep the lumbering from starting up again. Actually i might have already know the organizer already... we might have had a bit of an incident a while ago. SHE SAYS IT'S ALL GOOD THOUGH I SAID I WAS SORRY LIKE COME ON, IT'S NOT LIKE I

she said she had some guy come out to disrupt some of the equipment the night before but when we looked around the mill it looked like he never got to actually do the job...
I tried telling that pantsuit lady to shut everything down because people were going to die but she flipped it on
me and i almost got arrested!! Luckily JC is smart about some of that legal law stuff (
i've never been good at it...) and he was able to get me out of it. stupid cop took away my documents and miles' library book tho...
We ended up finding part of an old patch in the forest that belonged to one of the people who were involved in that cult i've mentioned a couple times. Young guy, had this even younger vampire kid he was looking after i think... damn he loved Saw. One of the shalewoods was cut to a stump and some of those Things were hanging out around it. They were kind of prodding at us and trying to get at my flashlight and
almost got JC but i scared them away from her!! (the bleating...) they kinda seemed to back off when i was shining my light around at the shadows... and they're REALLY protective of the lantern that they carry around. that thing was IMPORTANT
when we came back at night Herma decided to stick their hand IN One of these holes in the trees for some reason!! They keep doing this reckless shit and its pissing me off! And they said they felt something grabbing at them in thereand then the
goats show up so of course I had to shine my light in their to get them out.
I told herma to go for the lantern and then we'd get out of there. The two of the creatures charged and we all made a run for it. Miles and JC got out, i kind of didn't. I got tripped up by some chain and hit my head pretty bad. or did I hit my head when it started dragging me across the ground? I don't really remember a lot at all. Herma was there. because they ended up getting me out of there. I ended up getting them to tell me that destroying the lantern stopped the creatures. they wont tell me anything else though...
i mean. i'm not
Stupid. i'm still picking pieces of rock out of my boot soles these past few days.
I think we might be doing a bit better now. They really stuck their Neck out for me and we had a talk after. Still trying to get used to the whole Ru thing though. we're... i don't know how we're doing.
Um...a bit of personal update. I guess i'm seeing someone now? like, an actual boyfriend-girlfriend, boyfriend-boyfriend kind of thing.
