name: Vampire, vamprye, unholy demon bloodsucker
Abilities: drink blood, immortality, variable (each vampire actually has an extra special power!)
weaknesses: sunlight, holy water, crucifixes
that's right. vampires. blood Drinking, Night stalking. The whole nine yards. I didn't know if i'd ever run into one but it turns out theyve always been a lot
closer than I thought...
Yeah. there are vampires in Eureka. THAT'S freaky enough but then we got contacted by some of the... supernaturally inclined... in town about how a vampire from here got murdered by another vampire. I wouldn't usually be
too upset if vampires started killing eachother but aparently this killer vampire was like, BAD NEWS. like,
serial killer bad news.
Here's the thing about vampires. They can be hurt by sunlight and holy symbols and shit. They DON'T need to be invited in to a building and garlic actually does NOTHING to them. and also they all have their own special vampiric power on top of the other freaky shit they can do (like walking in people's dreams (CREEPY)) This vampire has been going around killing other vampires to SUCK THEIR POWERS AND ADD TO HIS OWN. kinda makes me feel bad for them because that's even fucked up for
vampires.
so we decided to help out and stop this Blackwood vampire. The last vampire he killed had a bunch of stuff about this eternalist church of saint Hazel in his journal? I guess Blackwood kind of had it out for this Hazel chick and was trying to take everyone's power so he could take her out. If he has to do
this to get strong enough to kill her, I'm kinda worried about what she can do, but I guess we should just focus on what's happening here in Eureka.
Blackwood kind of had a thing for Herma's divine energy or something because he tracked us down DURING THE DAY and tried to kill us in the Dennys parking lot!!!! He tried to come up to us in the MIDDLE OF THE RESTAURANT. you're probably like "but vampires can't go out during the day". well, they can if they're covered in a big trenchcoat and stupid hat. Herma and me TOTALLY took care of him though.
That gave us the idea to use Herma to bait him right where we wanted to ambush his ass. it was kind of stressful having Herma out in the open for Blackwood to attack, even if they are Really powerful. but I made sure to watch their back anyway. He fell for it though, and I
may have to add "chainsaw decapitation" to the list of vampire weaknesses after the sick stunt Dahlia pulled.
UPDATE
OKAY maybe this Eternal Hazel whatever shit
is a Eureka Problem.
Juno was fucking awesome and somehow tracked down the werewolf that turned Miles. They were all the way down in
Nevada so that meant ROAD TRIP!! it was really exciting to me, I can count on my hands the number of times i've been out of Humboldt. And never out of California. Juno's got this SICK RV i went with him to pick out so we drove down in that.
Turns out Miles' "sire" was in Las Vegas. which is a lot... A LOT different than Eureka. My head was sort of spinning from the noise and the smell and the lights but i was so happy to be out of Eureka I kind of didn't care that I was getting overstimulated (casino drinks did help though). We got to dress up a bit and hit the tables. Herma and Juno nearly got us kicked out of a place at one point. I think they were cheating at cards with magic? I was kind of spacing a bit, i wasn't paying attention.
After we got geared up to confront miles sire. Everything pointed to them being at this nightclub off the strip, a VAMPIRE nightclub. We barely got in without being mindcontrolled by this one lady at the front. Once we were in, here's the kicker... it turns out Mile's sire is some teenage girl??? And she was working as a bouncer. Werewolfs have this.. like... sense of each other so she knew who he was right away. We got pulled off into some other room and Juno, Miles, and Herma started beating the shit out of her!!!! Nothing lizzie or i said got them to back off but we finally got the fuck out of there when this "Lady Bishop" got called in, the vampire from the front. Anyway, she handed our asses to us and we RAN back to Eureka. Miles wrote and sent an apology letter while we were on the road...
i don't know if you remember, but
BISHOP was also the name of that new agent guy that was getting in our faces!! So we go to talk to HIM. and that nightclub: front for the Eternalist Church of Saint Hazel. that lady vampire: HIS MOM?? I guess he grew up in some kind of cult and he sold them out before joining the agency. Makes me feel kind of bad for them...
now that letter miles sent? Bad idea. Bishop was sure that the Church was gonna try to get back at us, so we had to prepare for them to show up on our turf. We got all set up at the church we did the exorcism at but then we got pulled away because the vampires were attacking Miles'
house. Y'know. where his wife lives. While we're helping her, we kind of... left bishop all alone in the church... and when we came back the vampires kind of found their way in... Bishop was caught by his dad and a bunch of other cult members, including miles' sire. We managed to help him escape but we MAY have killed his dad in the process (i already asked if they would be mad about that and they weren't really
pysched about the idea)
There were a LOT of those fuckers, but thankfully Bishop had pulled some strings with his agency and we got some sick weapons. I got this UV flashlight that did some major sun damage. Of course we had holy water too, we were in a church. Also maybe we set the church on fire...
we TOTALLY showed those vampires who's boss though!!!
...I think i might try to talk to Bishop later this week. He definitely knows more about this Hazel cult business than he's told us already. plus i kind of feel bad about his dad dying... I mean,
i didn't do it and the guy seemed like a TOTAL dick, i wouldn't be upset. but... i know it's not easy anyway.
UPDATE 2
Bishop got a letter from an old friend. Some one he knew back in the cult, his best friend since he was a kid. And i would have been jazzed to hear about that if she also wasn't asking him to go back to the church... We're all going, though. Herma got us all together for a "party" at the inn they're staying at but failed to mention that
SCYLAS would be there. That slime popped into the room with an arm around me and expected us to be all onboard to help with their problem. i mean,
I wasn't happy to see them. Miles wasn't as freaked as he should of been and JC didn't seem to understand how dangerous they were! Whatever. one of scylas' angels we defeated got caught up with the cult and they need OUR help to get him back. i don't know how I feel about working with Scylas, but what was being done to their angel... Not great stuff. Angel blood does some wild stuff to vamps and they need to keep him alive to keep getting it...
The Eternalist Church was set back up in Los Angeles. they crawled their way back in after they got raided by B*********n, i guess. Upped the security too. they had a WHOLE magic code system in place or something, which was giving Bishops friend Bianca trouble outside. We got let in by one of the bodyguards, a werewolf named Spencer.
So like, it's dark in there. DUH vampire den. but they have these candles and painted over stained glass and HUGE freaky marble statues of their leader Hazel. This lady is old. like even vampire old. She was supposedly turned by the first vampire EVER, Morbius. she does these turning ceremonies where she makes the members of the cult into vampires, which is supposed to be super special because she's so old and powerful. Feels wrong, feels bad. I found a bunch of... stuff... in the pews and. I can't even begin to imagine Charlie growing up here.
we got into the catacombs of the church while Bishop caught up with Bianca. Hazel sleeps under here. Being an old vampire means you have to sleep a LOT apparently. she was napping for like, 2 weeks. The tunnels got small. and also covered in bones (which like, i'm no stranger to bone floor but still. yikes). We ended up running into Daisy down there in one of the freaky "jesus ripped from the crucifix and broken mirror" rooms and now i think Miles is adopting her. Kind of. I don't know how that sort of thing works. Further in we found just. Walls of these porcelain dolls. it felt like it went on forever. and then we started seeing people we recognized. even Bishop
We ended up finding where the angel was being held. Some chamber deep in the catacombs where he was strung up against the wall unconscious... There was some divine binding seal literally built into the tiles of the floor, so
Herma and Scylas couldn't go in. COMPLETELY repelled from the room. i was up to ME to try and get the angel out because MILES wouldn't go in and help me. Guess that was
strong magic because even i felt something in there. Guess it could tell I had Herma in my head for a while. GOD it felt like I was wearing that HORRIBLE suit i used to have to wear to mass when i was a kid... I wanted to rip my skin off...
We freed the angel and Scylas took him off somewhere safe but we still had to go get Bishop. I think the most terrifying thing about everything that happened that day (well, maybe second to seeing the fucked up doll of my boyfriend marking him for death) was Bianca pouncing on me and spilling that Bishop and I were dating, which i was NOT ready for yet. apparently she could Tell??? (according to Herma
everyone could...) she asked me what my
intentions were...
the mass wasn't
really like what i'm used to but. they've got the pews and the candles and the cup everyone's drinking from, everything else. Hazel shows up and i'm holding Charlie's hand and i don't want to let him go when she calls him forward. But i do and she says some shit about prodigal sons and he drinks from the chalice of blood. then our group gets called forward, Herma Miles and me. (Herma turned the blood into wine, i didn't have to drink the blood. not really a wine fan tho...) Then she says they had a special turning, HIM, and I didn't even think twice about jumping in and throwing holy water in her goddamn face.
maybe i SHOULD have. because then i nearly got bodied by that werewolf Spencer. Miles jumped in an saved my ass though. Herma set off a spell that revealed Hazel's whole plan to use the Church as a means to gather power to rival the gods and kind of took over the whole "god battle to the death" with her. Rest assured she got turned to DUST
Hopefully this is the end of us and vampires for a while. give me at least a couple weeks before i have to see another one...
